Introducing : Phil McClennon, Managing Partner

Phil started his career within the manufacturing industry, working for a blue chip OEM at the cutting edge of factory automation and then fast tracking on from engineering projects through to IT systems implementation (ERP) and business process management.

After this first decade in engineering and a few years in management Phil left to found a factory automation engineering company which he led as Managing Director until it later became the UK subsidiary of a newly merged German engineering group.

Phil transferred to work in Germany as part of the group’s central team. His first role was managing the merger of their wider international network of subsidiary companies, spending the bulk of his time across the four continents covered by the group’s global footprint. 

During this merger work Phil took on ongoing responsibility for the group’s global strategy and once the merger was complete, he also took on leadership of the group's global supply chain function, to implement a key transformation effort identified in the strategy work.

Both the strategy and the transformation effort delivered significant tangible profitability improvement for the group, which in turn opened the door for Phil to move up to join to the newly formed parent company at their corporate headquarters. 

Here he applied the same business transformation approach to the much larger corporate group. Covering a much wider range of industries across an even more diverse international footprint, engaging leadership and management teams throughout the business in his work.

After close to a decade working from Germany, Phil decided to return to a UK base. He took on the leadership of the UK part of a global business services company, at the point at which it transferred to Private Equity ownership.

Here again his remit was to implement a transformation programme; to cement the business' strong UK market position and build upon that base into new market sectors and services through both organic and inorganic growth activities. 

As part of this effort, Phil led the organisation through a significant process digitalisation programme, which touched upon every part of the business and brought the real differentiation required to grow and sustain their blue chip client base.

Having completed his objectives as regional CEO, Phil has since moved to 1-2-10 to focus on supporting the wider market of companies who seek to transform their business and fulfil their potential.

His long history in transforming the competitive and financial performance of businesses, combined with his deep knowledge of physical and business process automation has led him to focus on these areas in his ongoing work. 

Phil specialises in engaging organisations in moving forward, by developing and implementing simple effective strategies for even the most complex of businesses and markets.

Phil holds a bachelors degree in business management and two masters degrees, in Manufacturing Engineering and Business Administration, from Liverpool, Coventry and Cambridge Universities respectively.
